Why we started
A civil servant with fifteen years of unbroken service and a payslip that arrives on the same day every month is, on paper, one of the safest borrowers in Zambia. In practice, that same person could spend two weeks gathering documents for a loan of a few thousand kwacha, and still be told to find a guarantor.
Artos Loans was built around the thing that already makes a government employee creditworthy: verifiable employment. Once we confirm your employee number, your ministry and your work station, the decision is straightforward, and it takes hours rather than weeks.
The pricing follows the same logic. One processing fee of 5%, interest of 10% per month on the balance still outstanding, and a fixed instalment you can check yourself on our calculator before you ever create an account. No arrangement charge, no compulsory insurance, no penalty for settling early.
